The popular punk-rock band Green Day may get some Rock Band treatment, according to a comment from front-man Billy Joe during a radio interview this morning. During the interview on KROQ 106.7 FM, an audience member asked when Green Day would appear on Rock Band. Joe simply replied: “Uh, yeah, we’re doing a whole Green Day Rock Band… uh.”
While the less-than descriptive comment could mean anything from a full game to downloadable content, the idea of a Rock Band with Green Day content is not unrealistic. We’ve already seen Aerosmith and Metallica Guitar Hero games, and Pearl Jam’s 10 album on Rock Band; plus, later this year we’ll see The Beatles: Rock Band.
While there’s no official announcement about Green Day: Rock Band, it would make sense that one of the biggest American bands would join its brothers in music rhythm game royalty, especially with its latest release of "21st Century Breakdown," a world tour, a musical, and its continued pursuit of world domination.

UPDATE: We contacted Harmonix COO Mike Dornbrook for information on a potential Green Day: Rock Band, and received the following.
"We're always working on a bunch of possibilities," said Dornbrook. "No comment on Green Day."
It appears that we'll have to wait a bit longer for official confirmation.

I would rather have a Offspring version :P
But to me it seems like his answer was something coming out of a cloud. Like he doesn't even know what Rock Band is, and then he got confused "Yeah, our rock band is called Green Day". That is what he meant in my opinion, lol
But I do think that either 21st Century Breakdown or American Idiot is coming to Rock Band.

More likely Billie Joe misunderstood the question asked but maybe he hinted that Greenday DLC is headed toward Rockband 2 this year? Probaby he thought the person asked if Greenday was a "Rockband"? No punk band deserves their own game even The Beatles don't deserve their own game(I am not a fan of Beatles and have nothing against them) but I think that The Beatles are one of those bands that fans will go out and buy their game just because its the only place to find Beatles songs that you can play only on their game. Same can be said about Metallica Guitar Hero.I expect American Idiot or 21st Century Breakdown to appear on Rockband as a download of the whole album similar to Pearl Jam's Ten album appeared. Would be cool to get the bands older work like Dookie even Warning, Insomiac, Nomrod, or the bands way older stuff like Kerplunk or 39 Smooth.
